Kristen Pickell

Owner, Lead Instructor

Kristen Pickell, owner of Movement Collective, brings dynamic and inclusive workouts to our neighbourhood. It is Kristen's passion to bring classes that help honour proper alignment and modification for each unique body. Kristen masterfully blends barre, strength training, Pilates, and yoga to deliver transformative experiences for all fitness levels.

With a Bachelor of Arts, Honors in Theatre Dance, certifications in Pilates and Pre/Post-Natal fitness, and a designation as Master Trainer in Barre, Kristen is committed to excellence in movement education. At Movement Collective, Kristen oversees full "in-house" teacher training programs, which equates to a broad-spectrum team of instructors mirroring her commitment to excellence and inclusivity.

Outside of the studio, Kristen spread her passion for dance into Kamloops by teaching ballet techniques at Nuance Dance Studio and choreographing at Brock Secondary School. Her goal was to provide an opportunity for as many children as possible to learn dance and love movement throughout life.

Kristen's biggest motivation? She's a proud mom of two very active boys, loves staying fit to keep up with them, and when the time comes for them to outrun her, she'll be there running joyfully behind them.

Jenni Manninen

Instructor

Jenni Manninen is a bright light at Movement Collective who balances a full-time career in finance along with raising her kids while maintaining her commitment to teaching. Born and raised in Finland, Jenni has been a resident of Kamloops for over a decade and is still deeply rooted in the community that welcomed her with open arms.

Nothing tops the energy and camaraderie in a class setting for Jenni; she wishes to feed off the energy of new faces and inspire dedication from the people present since day one. Paralleling this, the Virtual class possibility pulls on her heartstrings because it means that she can share her love for movement with her sister across the ocean.

Favourite classes to teach? SWEAT and BURN. Jenni brings an infectious enthusiasm and unwavering encouragement to class. When not on the mat, you'll find her running the hills of Kamloops or riding her bike with her trusty sidekick, Molly.

Karlee Waight

Instructor

As a mom to two exuberant girls, a group fitness instructor, and a personal trainer with a cardiology specialization, Karlee brings a rounded and caring approach to leading each class here at Movement Collective. She believes in the power of balance—in life and fitness—knowing that a strong and healthy body and mind can reach all aspects to full potential.

Karlee believes in the power of change that Pilates can bring: conscious movement, core strength, and functional alignment. Her favourite class to teach? CONNECT. Thursday nights come alive with this signature offering as Karlee expertly blends thoughtful sequences that engage both body and mind, fostering a sense of unity and presence among her students.

When not leading clients through heart-pounding workouts or advocating for heart health as a personal trainer in cardiology, you can find Karlee treasuring quiet moments with her nose in a good book. And because she's all about balance, you might catch her enjoying a glass of Kamloops wine with friends, basking in the community she's so grateful to be part of.

Nicola Kannegiesser

Instructor

Nicola has been a fitness professional since 2004, starting as a personal trainer in North Vancouver. This love of movement led her to Ontario, where she subsequently completed extensive Pilates training with The Physical Mind Institute and Body Harmonics Pilates. Over the next nine years, Nicola worked in conjunction with Chiropractic and Sports Therapists to help clients achieve ultimate health and performance.

In 2014, Nicola moved to Edmonton, where she expanded her practice, completing her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification and Level 1 Meditation Teacher Training at Wellness Within. Since returning to beautiful BC in 2018, Nicola has been playing on her hobby farm or exploring the interior's natural playground with her family—from snowboarding to paddleboarding and merely soaking in the great outdoors.

Teaching at the Movement Collective has been an ideal place to showcase all her passions: Pilates, yoga, and meditation. She remains fully committed to the fun, the challenging moment beyond one's boundaries, and the deeply rewarding aspects of movement that have taken years of practice to grow strong, be connected, and evolve.

Ryan McFarlane

Instructor

Since he was 14 years old, Ryan has been an energetic presence in the fitness community; he has dedicated his life to teaching group fitness. Dosed with a great deal of experience and love for seeing others grow, Ryan brings energy and encouragement to every class he leads.

Ryan teaches at both Movement Collective and K Spin Indoor Cycling Studio, and he is known to move his students out of their comfort zones into new states of strength and skill. Dynamic classes with him balance challenge and support, and every session is designed to break barriers and celebrate successes.

Having infectious enthusiasm for all things up-to-date with personal development, Ryan is a joy to have in the community. It inspires others to embrace the beauty of movement and find out what one is truly capable of.

Dulcie Jakubec

Instructor

Dulcie Jakubec is always on the move, whether she’s taking a Barre class at Movement Collective, cycling through a spin session, or finding calm on her yoga mat. With a background in dance spanning 18 years, Dulcie discovered Barre as a new way to stay active and quickly fell in love with both the workout and the welcoming Movement Collective community.

 

Now stepping behind the mic as an instructor, Dulcie is excited to connect with clients on a deeper level. She’s passionate about creating fun and energizing playlists that bring the burn and keep everyone pulsing along. Her classes are an extension of her love for movement and connection, inspiring others to feel strong and supported.

 

When Dulcie isn’t at the studio, she’s caring for little ones as a pediatric nurse at the hospital. Outside of work and fitness, you’ll likely find her curled up with a good book or off exploring new destinations around the world.

Kait Methot

Instructor

Kait’s love of movement and music began in her hometown of Kamloops, where she immersed herself in dance from a young age. Her training spanned ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and hip-hop, and she even added voice lessons to deepen her connection to musical expression. Kait’s passion for the arts remains a cornerstone of her life, keeping her actively engaged in music today.

Growing up on an organic vegetable farm, Kait developed a strong appreciation for health and wellness, values she continues to prioritize in her everyday life. She thrives on the balance of movement, creativity, and connection—focusing not just on physical fitness but also on building meaningful ties within her community.

Teaching at the Movement Collective allows Kait to share her joy for movement while encouraging others to discover their own rhythm, strength, and vitality. Whether on the mat or in a shared moment, Kait is all about bringing people together to feel healthy, inspired, and deeply connected.

Dana Koronko

Instructor

Dana Koronko is most definitely a multitasker: wife, mom of two, cookie decorator, certified spin and barre instructor, and dental hygienist—these are the many hats she wears day in and day out with her dentist husband. In her life, family, fitness, and creativity all balance perfectly, and she brings all that vibrant energy into every class she teaches.

Having grown up dancing, with a background in ballet and acro, Dana knows firsthand how vital movement is for one's mental health and overall well-being. This passion for promoting a balanced lifestyle wears brightly on her sleeve as she leads classes that will inspire physical strength as much as mental resilience.

She's grateful to be able to go into her downtime and get cozy with the kids: reading them stories, having movie time with them, and just creating memories that fill her up and give her purpose. Whether in the studio or at home, Dana brings in her warmth and dedication to wellness, making her part of the core here at the Movement Collective family.

Carmen Michaud

Instructor

With a passion for bringing people together through movement and fitness, Carmen finds immense joy in the connections she builds with her students at Movement Collective. Her high-energy BURN and SWEAT classes are a testament to her love of creating powerful, shared experiences that inspire growth and community.

Outside the studio, Carmen keeps the mic hot at K Spin Indoor Cycling Studio and encourages community spirit as part of Kamloops' newest crop of Lululemon Ambassadors. From leading runs to walks to hikes, she looks for any opportunity to bring the YKA community together and encourage people to love living an active lifestyle.

Carmen balances it all by working full-time as a finance manager and is the proud mom of a busy toddler. Family, fitness, and fostering meaningful connections—her commitment to all these makes her such a vibrant and integral part of the Movement Collective family.

Emily Pugsley

Instructor

For Emily, this love of fitness and movement began over 20 years ago in the dance studio, where a lifelong appreciation for both rhythm and strength was finally born. She discovered Barre in 2016 while working as a Pound Fitness instructor and hasn't looked back since. A graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, with a total count of two Diplomas paired with her completed Barre certification as of 2022, Emily brings a great deal of experience and passion into every class she leads.

When she is not making her students SWEAT and feeling the BURN at Movement Collective, Emily keeps busy helping others look and feel their best as a Chanel Beauty specialist or sharing her love of dance with young performers at Nuance Dance Studio. Her love for movement and empowering others completes itself in full circle in many of her endeavours.

Emily is so excited to welcome you into her class and inspire you to move with strength and joy at Movement Collective.

Paige Caswell

Instructor

With a degree in theatre and performing arts, class instructor Paige has a performer's heart that brings dynamic energy to each class she leads. A cancer survivor who never allowed life's tests to slow her down, Paige found strengthened and empowered roots of community at Movement Collective through Barre—an empowering tool of healing and resilience.

When not teaching at K Spin Indoor Cycling Studio, Paige is a professional makeup artist. Indoors or outdoors, her energy seems to have no bounds. With an attitude so ready to spread positivity and drive in every little thing through movement to art, Paige is ready wherever she goes.

Her favourite Barre move? "I loveeeeeeeeee me some relevés, so get ready to strengthen and burn those calves!" Get ready to feel empowered, inspired, and maybe a little sore—but in the best way possible!
